I built and priced the MKZ I would want. It’s more than twice the price of a base model Fusion, and not even close to a “fully loaded” Black Label model. Also after I posted this I looked at the lower Select trim, I realized that’s the one I’d get. You still get the big engine, and green, but you can get aluminum interior trim instead of wood. But the wheels exclusive on the Reserve trim look more at home in a light green luxury sedan.
First off let me just saw I am pumped that Lincoln offers a green, but you can’t get the “driver package” although I don’t think I’d want a “Sprot tuned” supenssion on a Lincoln anyway. I’m also still missing the old Lincoln front end, the new one is handsome but just not as striking, which I guess fits the brand. If you want striking buy a Lexus...okay that doesn’t sound right either.
I also love that they offer a 3.0l twin turbo with 400hp. One of the things Lincoln needs to have is exclusive engines to make them more than just a fancy Ford.
Also Lincoln’s green needs to be a bit less Subaru Legacy and a bit more this.
Or this, now that’s green.

I lust after a roomy luxury GT sedan. Lincoln and Buick are high in my list for my next car. I really don’t care about “sporty” for my daily driver. That’s what second cars are for. I want comfort and lots of it. I’m 6'5" and a typical road trip for me is 1300 miles. I could sit in those Lincoln multi contour seats for the rest of my life.

In that case the MKZ/Fusion is probably too small for you, at least not if you ever want to put some one in the seat behind you. I’m a long legged 6'1" and couldn’t put some one behind in comfortably in a Fusion, and I didn’t have much headroom in the back sitting behind a shorter person. I wonder how soon the MKS/Taurus will be replaced that platforms getting a bit old. But it is specious and comfortable.

Agreed. I have a decent commute, lots of traffic, I want to be comfortable dammit!

We did pass on the mkz for our road tripper for that reason, mostly because of bulky car seats for our kids. Once they graduate to boosters, it’s game on. My eyes are squarely aimed at the continental.

I didn’t realize the Conti was the MKS replacement I thought it was much larger.

Yup, my understanding is that the continental is the direct successor to the mks.
